English club at Gandzasar camp

By Seda Minasyan from Art school

After having  breakfast I went out to breathe  some fresh air of Gandzasar. The security told us that there was a British tourist at the Monostery. So I went there with Mr. Yura to meet him. He was taking some photos of sunshine. His name was Keith Gregory .  We had an interesting discussion. We were interested in why he was taking such photos, he replied that in Britain the weather was so changeable that one could hardly find sunshine sceneries. We were astonished when he told us that he had been to 85 countries in his life though he had only had one week vacation during a year.  (He was a manager in TNT Transport Company). As I understood he was fond of travelling but most of all he liked Vienna and Columbia.

According to him Artsakh as well as Armenia have beautiful nature. He also informed us that he was going to leave for Yerevan that day.  Then the next day he would travel to Georgia. Our discussion lasted one hour in the morning and four hours in the afternoon at Vank school with the English club. I noticed that he was very sociable and shy person.

We talked to him about our school which he liked very much.  We would like to invite him to our school but he unfortunately had no time for it. But he was glad that he could visit our school website.  He was also happy that his meeting was useful for us.

Thus, it was really a great opportunity to talk English for 5 hours with an Englishman especially that we all were the students of the English club.

Though I was from Art school English club, I joined Mr. Yura’s one because my club had another activity of doing sports at that time. That was why  Ms. Haykuhi advised me to join Mr. Yura’s English club. There were also other students from Artsakh schools. It was great fun to stay in Gandzasar camp. THANKS.
