The British Council in Yerevan has sent us a letter with Christmas greetings and the recipe of Yorkshire pudding which traditionally baked on the Christmas eve.
Dear customers, friends and partners,
British Council Armenia team |
New Year is the time to look back on the achievements of the past 12 months. For the British Council Armenia, it has been a period of great intensity; at times hard, at times slow, at times emotional, but always exciting and rewarding.
On behalf of the British Council Armenia team, I wish you very happy and successful 2012. I wish peace and prosperity to Armenia and the Armenian people and I wish new triumphs of cultural relations between the UK and Armenia.
As a contribution to your celebrations, let us propose Yorkshire pudding recipe for New Year, a classic British recipe.
Ingredients
140g plain flour (this is about 200ml/7fl oz)
4 eggs (200ml/7fl oz)
200ml milk
sunflower oil , for cooking
Yorkshire puddings |
1. Heat oven to 230C. Put a little oil equally into 2 x 4-hole Yorkshire pudding tins and place in the oven to heat through.
2. To make the batter, tip the flour into a bowl and beat in the eggs until smooth. Gradually add the milk and carry on beating until the mix is completely lump-free. Pour the batter into a jug, then remove the hot tins from the oven. Carefully and evenly pour the batter into the holes. Place the tins back in the oven and leave undisturbed for 20-25 mins until the puddings have puffed up and browned. Serve immediately.
Enjoy your meal
