USA Indiana. Teachers' Summer Institute

A group of 50 teachers from Armenia and Turkey concluded 6 weeks sessions at Indiana University as part of US ambassy program. The program was very well organised. We had the opportunity to improve our speaking skills, we got a good knowledge of interactive teaching and using modern technology in teaching. I am sure all I gained at Indiana University will be a good contribution at implementing more innovations and going global in teaching.

As a participant I would like to mention, that one of the most important and valuable things we got at Indiana University was cultural exchange. Though we have historical and political problem with Turkey, we spent 6 weeks collaborating together and actually we turned to be a single group, a group of teachers who had the same problems. We were very positive to each other and those who were responsible for the program were pleased to see how peers from two countries communicated and socialised with each other and were  willing to interact.

The sessions are over, but teachers from both countries are going to continue collaboration networking with each other. The program was really helpful. We had great time, new friends and impressions, new ideas and experiences and thanks to all those who made every effort to create a greate  atmosphere.
