What am I doing to achieve my aim?

Astghik Khachatryan, our distance learner in Cina, has written an essay about persistence in achieving one's aim.

An aim is something that almost every person has and tries to work hard to achieve it. Sometimes, if the person is motivated enough, he or she can get what they want. Most of the times people stop making efforts to reach their goal after a few days they start working on it. But sometimes, if the person is motivated enough, he or she can get what they want. They  find different ways and use different tactics, are patient and use their time wisely, avoid temptation and sacrifice something for the final result.

I myself have achieved some of my aims, and have failed to reach the others. And one of the most important things that I understood while reaching them, is that it won't happen overnight and even when you achieved something you wanted, you should keep working hard in order not to lose it. For example, one of my biggest aims right now is learning Chinese and to be able to speak it like a native does. To achieve this aim I'm revising Chinese characters and grammar almost every day and am watching TV programs or shows in Chinese not only for pleasure, but to learn new words and expressions. Watching Chinese TV shows helps me to find out in which situations and how to use different words and expressions correctly.

But besides this, some time ago I wanted to improve my English, so besides learning it at school I started to watch almost everything in English and I also got motivated seeing how my mom is so good at it. So, I know that I still have a long way to go to be as good as a native person while speaking these languages and also to achieve my other aims, but I and every other person trying to reach their goals, have to always remember that the only thing that can be the reason of their failure or success is them.
