About the use of the mother tongue
To use the mother tongue or not to use? This is a question that worries nearly all the EFL teachers. Some are proud of not using it at all, and their students most often lack accuracy and flexibility in their speech, others use it unnecessarily too much forgetting that they are English teachers, and their students can't communicate in English at all. So, to use the mother tongue or not to use?
I think it is like eating bread. If we don't eat any bread at all, we'll lack some vital nourishing elements, on the other hand if we eat too much fresh and warm bread we'll be intoxicated.

Dear Yura nice analogy on the topic!Well honestly I am one of those in fond of minimal use of TL and honestly I never ever use Armenian in my class. But I can understand your reasoning and I acknowledge that use of L1 in class shouldnt be a "taboo" at all. Balance is the key to any approach and methodology ... Thanks for raising the topic

Dear Yura nice blog. I also agree with you. I think using mother tongue must be banned by a teacher during a lesson. As I have read one of the crucial principal elements of communicative approach to English language teaching is Communicating in English, which means only English must be used during a lesson. And mother tongue should be used in cases when there is a neccessity to compare two languages for example in teaching grammar points.
