Komitas performed by Grandpa Kochar

We were participants of the cultural expedition on September 20-22. Before the expedition we were wondering what project we could do on Komitas. It was just in Vayots Dzor that an idea occured to us. We were walking through villages, going to churches  enjoying ourselves and getting sad, enjoying the autumn colours of the countryside. Sometimes we met the countrymen and asked about their villages. We had planned so still at school. We were asking about churches, and about legends connected with the region. We especially wondered what they knew about Komitas.
Our camp was between the villages Eghegis and Hermon. Just there we met the 88-year-old Grandpa Kochar. He had been brought to the camp from the village at Sofia's request. And we started our work. We were asking questions, recording, taking photos. He was a very interesting and informed grandpa. His speech was colourful and was speaking about Komitas with delight. Grandpa Kochar didn't make us ask him to sing. He sang willingly with love. That was wonderful. We came back from our expedition with video recordings and photos. We saw the result of our work? at last. It is a beautiful film. What did this work give  got to know the countryside better, saw the villages and churches, lived three days and nights with our friends and teachers, overcame difficulties and conquered summits, completed part of our project usingthe digital means he had with us.
