The English speaking club is expanding its project work

The English speaking club hhas already begun the project work "mskh.am in English". Last week we had one oral discussion, translated three articles and published them on the English page of our school website. I have to say that the fact, that all our students have got notebooks/net-books and use them in our daily work, essentially helps us with our translational work. The work in the classroom goes on in the way I have described in the project description. I only hadn't taken into consideration that the natural hum of the working groups discussing different issues would turn into an unpleasant noise. My only difficulty was to make that unpleasant noise a pleasant hum again. That working hum is more effective than an "ideal" lesson in dead silence when the student is not a learner, he is just an obedient listener.

And now I want to speak about ow we want to expand our project work. In 1956 US President D.Eisenhower established the not-for-profit organization PTPI (People to People International) one branch of which is School&Classroom program. Every year nearly 80000 learners and teachers from 135 countries carry out joint educational projects. The central headquarters of the organization is in Kansas City, Missouri USA. This summer I sent an application to be involved in this program. I expressed a wish to have contacts with a teacher and his class from a European country. Recently the coordinator of the program sent me a letter of congratulation saying that she had found a school and a teacher with her class in the Palestinean part of Israel: the town is Al-Gharbiyya, Al-Qassemi High School, teacher Dania Msarwa. There are 36 students in her class. As Dania Msarwa informs, they are very clever students. Today I received a letter from Dania Msarwa in which she offers to begin our cooperation. So our English speaking club gets another projects: "Carrying out international educational projects with Al-Gharbiyya Al-Qassemi High School in Palestine".
