Our First Day at Izmir Space Camp

It is not easy to be in a foreign country, communicate with others only in English, get acquainted with the representatives of different nationalities. But it is easy when the environment is pleasant, when you are surrounded by smiling people, when the mispronounced word isn't an obstacle for mutual understanding, when your squad leader is so caring, when your teammate is self-confident and an initiator.       

We have been in Izmir Space Camp for only a day. Everything is very well planned and organized.  
At breakfast all our learners were already in their teams (squads) which are given the names of different galaxies: Orion, Sirius, Vega…. Children from four countries (Armenia, Turkey, Greece, and Romania) are taking part in this week’s camp. We have been given the six-day schedule of activities and courses for each learner. The campers of four different nationalities mix together, make friends with each other. The accompanying teachers have a different program of activities. My impressions are great. Each of us makes hi/her own interesting discoveries. …
