The Traveller's Notes

The project “Educational Bridges” has transformed into a cultural and friendship relationships. Our 4-day visit to Georgia was a vivid evidence of that. The program was very busy: on the way to Tbilisi we visited Vardzia and Rabat, passed through Borjomi and got to Tbilisi late in the evening. The reception was wonderful with familiar faces and the city which has already become so dear to us. The Sunday was devoted to pleasant wandering about the city. We walked about Tbilisi till late in the evening, saw almost all the places of interest, danced and sang with our compatriots in the Armenian Youth Home adjacent to St Gevorg Church and also near Sayat Nova’s grave.

On Monday two schools in Gldan were waiting for us. We were very much excited by their wonderful reception. They were waiting for us with bunches of flowers and singing and dancing in the school yard. Our Georgian partners are very much interested in our reviews, and as one of the schools has only recently joined in the project “Armenia Georgia Public Educational Bridges”, we presented the reviews “Eco Tour 2016”, “Open May Gathering” and summer reviews to them in detail. Just on the same day we visited Jvari Monastery and Mtskheta.

P.S. I am still enjoying this wonderful 4-day gift. I have already been at home for many hours but I am still with my friends in my thoughts. I am still walking about Tbilisi and along the narrow tiled streets of Mtskheta. I am still relishing that friendly atmosphere which lasted during those four days. As our wise Nune Movsisyan remarked, our group of thirteen teachers didn’t part with each other even for a single hour. During all this time we were always together and enjoyed only pleasant moments. On behalf of me and my friends I am thankful to all those who helped us to make our festive days so bright. With love and new expectations…
