January 14 in the Educomplex

Today is January 14, Thursday. The educational work in the Educomplex is going on online although the lessons have been stopped in the physical environment like in all the schools in Armenia due to flu virus. Our teachers publish their subject assignments in their blogs and the learners publish the answers in their own blogs. So we can say that the educational process in our Educomplex hasn't been stopped. Individual consultations on different subjects are held in our Art School.

There was a round table discussion in our School-garden on the issues of educational farming and country studies. When I went to the School-garden I first visited the school farm, and Roxy was the first to meet me with its cheerful barking. When I wanted to enter the area where geese are kept, Roxy began barking more severly trying to show that it was a specially protected area.

The discussion of the issue of educational farming brought to the conclusion that it should be viewed as an educational laboratory and not just a farm producing agricultural goods. As Mr. Gevorg Hakobyan remarked the important thing for us is not the quantity of grown tomatoes but the number learners having taken part in that process, or whether potatoes have been grown in the way our ancesters did or according to the modern technologies learnt about on the Internet. Mr. Ashot Bleyan expressed his discontent to the school headmasters on the matter that the Biology teachers do not use the school farm as their main educational laboratory.

At the end of the day two specialists from the USA and Canada came to the Media Center. They are staying in the guest home of our Art School. The AIESEC in Armenia intends to organize a course of financial literacy at our High School. It is a wonderful chance for our students not only to gain basic financial knowledge but also to develop communicative skills in English.
