Distant Teaching and Learning

All the schools in Armenia are closed because of the high rate of H1N1 virus flu, and our Educomplex is carrying out online educational work. All the teachers publish their subject assignments in their educational blogs and the syudents do these tasks in their blogs. So we can say that we haven't stopped our educational work.

Here is my first task in English for the students of Grade 11.

 Answer the following questions

  1. What was your main achievement in 2015?
  2. Did you see the New Year in at home or somewhere else?
  3. What did you do in the evening of January 5, 2016?
  4. What did you do in the morning of January 6?
  5. Is Christmas a family or religious holiday in Armenia?

Here are the anwsers of three students:

Elina Hakobyan
I do not usually count my achievements at the end of the year.  I appreciate life and not the achievements. I saw New Year in at home with my family. In the evening of January 5, 2016 I prayed and went to the Media Centre. It was a great day.  In the morning of January 6 I woke up with pleasant feeling that it was Christmas morning. I first congratulated me and then congratulated all the people I saw. Then I went to my friend’s place to celebrate Christmas day. We celebrated Christmas merrily. I think that Christmas in Armenia is a family holiday and has nothing to do with religion. It has nothing to do with religion but of course it is a Christian holiday in Armenia. Fortunately, there are many families in Armenia who realize the real meaning of this great holiday.

I didn’t count my achievements in 2015, because I think that in my life each day is an achievement. I celebrated the New Year at home with my family, and then we  visited my aunt and celebrated the New Year also with her family. In the evening of January 5, 2016 I went to the Media Center with my sister and brother. There the teachers’ choir gave a small concert of. In the morning of January 6 I woke up in a very high mood, because it was Christmas morning and congratulated my family members. Then I went to my friend’s place with my family and celebrated Christmas with them. It was a beautiful day. I think that Christmas is a family holiday. Of course it is a Cristian holiday and Christianity is a not a religion for  me; Christianity is a lifestyle.

Maria Babayan

2015 was really a year of achievement for me. At the beginning of the year I was in Poland to attend the international tennis school. It was the first achievement. I learned Polish there and it is my 4th foreign language. In September I returned to Armenia and came back to my favorite school. The next achievement was that I started dancing Armenian dances thanks to Mr. Stepan.
I celebrated the New Year at home with my family.
On January 5 in the evening I went to Church and brought home a lit candle. I said Merry Christmas to everybody whom I met on the way home. In the evening of January 6 we had a Christmas supper at home. We had fish, pilaf with raisins and drank red wine. During this week people exchange gifts with congratulations and their houses are open to welcome everyone. Christmas is loved by everyone and its traditions are very beautiful both in church and at home.
