It is absurd to consider tourism one of the main branches of the development of Armenian economy

Gevorg Sayadyan (Grade 11) writes his impressions about the trip to Tsaghkadzor.

It’s absurd to consider tourism in Armenia one of the main branches of the development of Armenian economy.
I’ve been to Tsaghkadzor lately and spent a really good time there. Our group went for a walk every day. Walking about Tsaghkadzor I came to the conclusion that the town name Tsaghkadzor (gorge of flowers) should be changed into Tsaghsadzor (gorge of expenditures) . Why? Because for an ordinary person it costs too much to have a good or bad rest here.
Studying tourism in Armenia and particularly in Tsaghkadzor I realized that it can’t be considered the main branch of the development of the Armenian economy. But the geographical location of Armenia allows us to make tourism become one of the most beneficial branches of our economy. Having so many cultural and historical monuments, we can have a great number of tourists in summer, autumn and spring. And in winter the mount tourism in Tsaghkadzor and Jermuk will attract a great number of tourists.
Last summer, I visited Andorra which is one of the smallest countries in the world with the population of only 90.000 and 25.000 out of them live in the capital city. At first sight Andorra looked like Armenia with its nature and mountains. When I was walking along the streets I saw that there were many tourists there. Tourists from different countries especially from Europe come to Andorra to do shopping because it’s considered one of the best shopping centers in Europe. Unfortunately, Armenia isn't a favorable place for tourists although our country is rich in cultural places of interest.
