An open Georgian lesson with the Georgian Ambassador

Sona Mayilyan

The Georgian Language Day is being marked all over Georgia today. Every year this day is celebrated in the Educomplex with great festivities. We have many guests, song and dance groups from Georgia. This year the Georgian Language Day was celebrated on the 4th of April, and on the 14th of April an open Georgian lesson was held in the Educomplex with the participation of Ambassador Mr. Tengiz Sharmanashvili and officials from Georgian Embassy to Armenia. We, the Georgian speaking club members, presented the Georgian page of our website, the blog of our club and the Georgian page of the Dpir. We also presented some projects in Georgian which we have already realized. The Ambassador liked our Georgian speaking club and the Educomplex very much. Narek and I presented the project Shota Rustaveli. Mr. Sharmanashvili said that we wanted to give presents to the learners who do well. I was surprised to get the first prize. It will make me do better. The open lesson was a success. Mr. Tengis Sharmanashvili said that he was inspired by our Educomplex, and he spoke about Armenian Georgian friendship which has lasted for centuries, and he emphasized that the real continuation of that friendship can be seen here. Mr. Bleyan spoke about different educational joint projects and educational trips which strengthen the links of two neighbouring countries.

I am very thankful to our Georgian teacccher Mrs. Rina Shaginyan. Thanks to her we can communicate in Georgian.
